Hello there! I am a Junior at Indiana University Bloomington, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Game Design.
I believe that the programmer's job, in game development, is to make the designer's vision come to life, any way they can.
Front Page Danger (Full Game)
Role: Programmer
Concept: Photography Themed Bullet Hell
I mainly worked on prototyping our designer, Keller McKean's vision, making sure that everything he wanted in the game was feasible in code.
Release Date: Never, not in a million years.

Elevator Pitch: Front Page Danger is an isometric 2.5D adventure bullet hell where you take on the role of a Photojournalist in a noir city rife with crime.
This game challenged me to program game mechanics that I had never attempted before.
In this game, I was tasked with prototyping code for a game pitched to our game design major's "shark tank". Our designer expected no compromises, since the majority of the gameplay came from another game, Touhou Bunkachou ~ Shoot the Bullet. The primary differences I had to contend with were an isometric persepective, having 3D Models acting as level geometry, and a stun mechanic for the enemies. (On top of recreating the original game mechanics in Godot, of course :))
The main thing I learned from this exercise is to look up when your engine can do something for you. One of the major worries that I had going into the project was the photos taking actual screenshots of gameplay once completed... until I realized that the render texture for the game was freely available through the viewport, and it was only a matter of cropping after that.
The Swamposseum is a game about frogs in gladitorial combat.
The game's movement system is what sets it apart;
you must navigate the colloseum with your tounge, which functions like a grappling hook.
This game was written in Unity 2022, with help from Marlena (Thanks a ton!)
Big House Hustle is a dice game, attempting to be an evolve upon the rules of Liar's Dice.
You play as a group of gambling addicted inmates, who must trade contraband to turn into the warden for time off of their sentence.
In terms of actual gameplay, this means betting on who has the value on the a group of dice in the center of the playfield,
and winning said dice once the betting has finished.
